Rihanna, Eminem, Bono?Which Celebs Will Make the Most Money From Facebook's IPO?
With the big Facebook public offering coming up, do any stars stand to get any richer? What about the celebrities who have the most Likes on Facebook?
?Ms. Ravenclaw, via the inbox
You speak of the spectacularly overhyped tech company founded by That Guy Who Inspired That Spectacularly Overhyped Oscar Bait Movie. This week the 8-year-old company plans to float to about 421 million shares of its stock. The world is freaking out, just freaking out, noting that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg stands to rake in an estimated $1.25 billion from the offering.
As far as who else will get rich, yes, there is a big star out there, a bona fide celebrity, who stands to make millions:
SADDLE UP: What's Armie Hammer Up To Next?
How about Bono?
Yes! Bono!
The U2 musician who already has an estimated net worth of something like $900 million is set to make even more this week. Why? Because his investment company, Elevation Partners, holds a stake in Facebook said to be worth hundreds of millions. How much the company might sell isn't clear; neither is the exact profit, if any, Bono might directly make. But whatever happens, the singer's net worth will likely rise, says Aaron Task, who has been following the story as cohost of The Daily Ticker on Yahoo! Finance.
As for the celebrities who are the most popular on Facebook, let's see who we have. According to our research, the most popular star is?get this?Eminem, who has more than 57 million likes. Rihanna comes in second with more than 55 million, followed by Lady Gaga, Shakira and the late Michael Jackson.
Will they get even richer through Facebook as well? Not likely. Not unless they bought a stake in the company at one point.
"There have been people over the years who have done work for Facebook and who took payment in company stock instead of cash," Task tells this B!tch.
So, theoretically, if Gaga, say, played the company Christmas party a few years back and took a stock payment, she could get richer this week.

3 Keys to Successful Time Management
Article Directory :: Self-Improvement/Motivation Articles
In difficult times we still have 24 hours a day. That might seem like a very natural statement, but think about it. In the good times everybody has so much time to do what is profitable and what they enjoy. In difficult times it becomes far harder to apply your mind because of procrastination and fear. The one thing we lack is confidence. When we are fearful, we are either paralyzed or frenetic and often unproductive. Either way, effective time management loses its way.
So personally I think that time management is a misleading statement. Time is time. It cannot be expanded or contracted. The proper title should be that time management is really self management managing myself in the dimension of time. Everybody gets 24 hours. You cannot expand it or contract it. So self management is really what counts: how I manage myself within the 24-hour period determines if I reach my goals or not. Intentions don't show up in diaries; actions do.
I once agreed to do an exercise where I kept a diary of everything that I did and listed in 15-minute segments for two weeks for every single day. Apart from being detailed and tedious, it gave me insight into how I use my time and more importantly if I was really achieving my goals. I then became a convert to keeping a diary daily, which was linked to my goals and objectives, and this was 23 years ago, and I'm still converted to this fact.
From this experience I came up with a few negotiables.
1. Always plan tomorrow five minutes before the end of today.
Why? Your day is fresh in your mind so that you can see what you did and what needs to be carried over, so list those things that are carryovers for tomorrow. Secondly your mind needs to be freed up when you go home so that you can rest and not worry about that department presentation. Did you really sort it out or didn't' you? The brain needs rest.
2. Select your priorities according to your energy levels.
I list all of my activities for the day and divide them into A's and C's. A's are the top in priority that require concentration and dedicated time. C's are less important and require less focus. Now assess your energy levels. When during the day are you able to do your As and your Cs? Some clients I work with like to do their As from 8 to 11 in the morning and then take a break around lunch to do Cs and then do As later on in the afternoon. You may be different, but listen to your body when you're doing your diary management for tomorrow. Each day may vary, so set up your diary according to your energy levels.
3. Your diary keeps you honest.
Commit to do what the diary says, and only change in exceptional cases. I'm not advocating legalism, but this is your diary, and these are your goals that need to be achieved. The diary is simply a tool that makes this come true on a daily basis. When you're doing your As, you get two kinds of priorities. An A that is overwhelming is one that needs time and energy to be committed to it. In this do what we call the Swiss cheese approach. Swiss cheese is full of holes, so do a few activities each day towards this, and slowly but surely it will all be eaten up. If it's unpleasant, this type of A needs to be done immediately. As they say in the Nike adverts, "Just do it." Otherwise it becomes overwhelming as well.
We all know the old adage that says that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. I think Confucius was wise in what he said. time management using a diary is your single step every day to achieving your life goals. You might have dreams and visions of what you want to become, and these might become quite emotional as you write them down, but I can assure you that they are only as good as what you're going to put in your diary tomorrow regarding that dream. One step after the other will take you to the top of the highest mountain you could ever consider climbing.

Getting in the Holiday Spirit
Getting in the spirit of the holidays can be tough for some people. Many people insist that it can only happen if they have a real tree and not the best artificial Christmas tree in their home. Whatever your preference you can certainly start getting in the spirit as early as Thanksgiving giving you the ability to move through the month toward the holiday building it up. Take some time to find out what your trigger is for the holiday and use that to your advantage when getting into the holiday spirit. The holidays can be stressful and it is for this reason that some people have a great deal of trouble ramping up. This having been said, those who put the holiday as a fun time to be with family and not surround themselves with the finances of the situation do much better than those who are wrapped up in buying the best gift ever for everyone they know.

Cloak of invisibility: Engineers use plasmonics to create an invisible photodetector
ScienceDaily (May 21, 2012) ? It may not be intuitive, but a coating of reflective metal can actually make something less visible, engineers at Stanford and UPenn have shown. They have created an invisible, light-detecting device that can "see without being seen."
At the heart of the device are silicon nanowires covered by a thin cap of gold. By adjusting the ratio of metal to silicon -- a technique the engineers refer to as tuning the geometries -- they capitalize on favorable nanoscale physics in which the reflected light from the two materials cancel each other to make the device invisible.
Pengyu Fan is the lead author of a paper demonstrating the new device published online May 20th in the journal Nature Photonics. He is a doctoral candidate in materials science and engineering at Stanford University working in Professor Mark Brongersma's group. Brongersma is senior author of the study.
Cloak of invisiblity
Light detection is well known and relatively simple. Silicon generates electrical current when illuminated and is common in solar panels and light sensors today. The Stanford device, however, is a departure in that for the first time it uses a relatively new concept known as plasmonic cloaking to render the device invisible.
The field of plasmonics studies how light interacts with metal nanostructures and induces tiny oscillating electrical currents along the surfaces of the metal and the semiconductor. These currents, in turn, produce scattered light waves.
By carefully designing their device -- by tuning the geometries -- the engineers have created a plasmonic cloak in which the scattered light from the metal and semiconductor cancel each other perfectly through a phenomenon known as destructive interference.
The rippling light waves in the metal and semiconductor create a separation of positive and negative charges in the materials -- a dipole moment, in technical terms. The key is to create a dipole in the gold that is equal in strength but opposite in sign to the dipole in the silicon. When equally strong positive and negative dipoles meet, they cancel each other and the system becomes invisible.
"We found that a carefully engineered gold shell dramatically alters the optical response of the silicon nanowire," said Fan. "Light absorption in the wire drops slightly -- by a factor of just four -- but the scattering of light drops by 100 times due to the cloaking effect, becoming invisible."
"It seems counterintuitive," said Brongersma, "but you can cover a semiconductor with metal -- even one as reflective as gold -- and still have the light get through to the silicon. As we show, the metal not only allows the light to reach the silicon where we can detect the current generated, but it makes the wire invisible, too."
Broadly effective
The engineers have shown that plasmonic cloaking is effective across much of the visible spectrum of light and that the effect works regardless of the angle of incoming light or the shape and placement of the metal-covered nanowires in the device. They likewise demonstrate that other metals commonly used in computer chips, like aluminum and copper, work just as well as gold.
To produce invisibility, what matters above all is the tuning of metal and semiconductor.
"If the dipoles do not align properly, the cloaking effect is lessened, or even lost," said Fan. "Having the right amount of materials at the nanoscale, therefore, is key to producing the greatest degree of cloaking."
In the future, the engineers foresee application for such tunable, metal-semiconductor devices in many relevant areas, including solar cells, sensors, solid-state lighting, chip-scale lasers, and more.
In digital cameras and advanced imaging systems, for instance, plasmonically cloaked pixels might reduce the disruptive cross-talk between neighboring pixels that produces blur. It could therefore lead to sharper, more accurate photos and medical images.
"We can even imagine reengineering existing opto-electronic devices to incorporate valuable new functions and to achieve sensor densities not possible today," concluded Brongersma. "There are many emerging opportunities for these photonic building blocks."
Brongersma lab alumnus Professor Linyou Cao and doctoral candidate Farzaneh Afshinmanesh contributed to this research. This work is a collaboration with Professor Nader Engheta and post-doctoral researcher Uday Chettiar from University of Pennsylvania.

Hubble spies edge-on beauty: Galaxy NGC 891
ScienceDaily (May 21, 2012) ? Visible in the constellation of Andromeda, NGC 891 is located approximately 30 million light-years away from Earth. The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope turned its powerful wide field Advanced Camera for Surveys towards this spiral galaxy and took this close-up of its northern half.
The galaxy's central bulge is just out of the image on the bottom left.
The galaxy, spanning some 100,000 light-years, is seen exactly edge-on, and reveals its thick plane of dust and interstellar gas. While initially thought to look like our own Milky Way if seen from the side, more detailed surveys revealed the existence of filaments of dust and gas escaping the plane of the galaxy into the halo over hundreds of light-years. They can be clearly seen here against the bright background of the galaxy halo, expanding into space from the disk of the galaxy.
Astronomers believe these filaments to be the result of the ejection of material due to supernovae or intense stellar formation activity. By lighting up when they are born, or exploding when they die, stars cause powerful winds that can blow dust and gas over hundreds of light-years in space.
A few foreground stars from the Milky Way shine brightly in the image, while distant elliptical galaxies can be seen in the lower right of the image.
NGC 891 is part of a small group of galaxies bound together by gravity.
A version of this image was entered into the Hubble's Hidden Treasures Image Processing Competition by contestant Nick Rose. Hidden Treasures is an initiative to invite astronomy enthusiasts to search the Hubble archive for stunning images that have never been seen by the general public.

Association of Catholic Women Bloggers: World Communications ...
Another of their sisters has written a reflection on silence to mark the World Communications Day: The Sounding Silence. I was particularly taken by this paragraph, referring to Pope Benedict's message 2012 World Communications Day entitled Silence and Word: Path for Evangelisation:
The Pope wrote exclusively about silence as it relates to interpersonal communication and the sharing of ?advice, ideas, information, and answers,? especially with respect to evangelization. He could just as easily have included entertainment. In fact, entertainment now constitutes one of the most frequent uses of media overall. One source claims that 100 million video clips are viewed on YouTube every day. Can we abstain here and there? We seem to guzzle much of what comes our way: food, commodities, sexual and social interaction, and media. Even naturally speaking, occasional abstinence from these sharpens the appetite, refines sensibilities, and increases pleasure. Chronic and indiscriminate indulgence, instead, dulls them and increases the risk of dependence. I was intrigued by the number of my Facebook ?friends? who gave up the networking site for Lent. I would be interested in what they thought of their experience. Mere abstinence doesn?t bring us closer to the Lord, but when this ?silence? is filled with the Word of God in one way or another, it can prepare us to search for God in our media experiences and integrate them with Gospel values. The last paragraph of this post suggests that we take a moment each day to stop and listen to the sounds of the world around us.? On those unusual occasions when I travel on a train during rush hour as people are travelling too and from work, I am always stunned by how inattentive many are to their surroundings, to the people and environment around them. The earphones and the iphones rule.
The slide show at this page usefully explores some of the ideas associated with this theme. Some of the slides strike a particular chord with someone like myself whose working life?involves responding to the situations of colleagues or to consultations about changes taking place in the workplace. "In the practice of silence we avoid being tied to our own untested point of view". If a trade union representative fires off before they have fully understood a situation they can all too easily make a situation worse and render themselves ineffective in contributing to resolving it. "... silence is essential for discernment in order to distinguish what is important from what is insignificant or secondary". That, again, is an important skill in trade union work - seeing what really matters in a situation, and focussing on responding to that. And a slide that kind of sums up its relevance to my line of work: "In silence, we gain clarity and understanding of: what we want to say, what we expect of others; how we choose to express ourselves".
These considerations are evangelising, and people do notice when you put them into practice. I have in a past role (not a trade union one, as it happens, but one that did involve quite high powered meetings) been complimented by officers involved on being someone who asked?good questions. And only this week a colleague commented on my more thoughtful approach to things in comparison to others. And that is effective communication.

Hawks keeping Drew as coach for 2012-13 season
ATLANTA (AP) ? Larry Drew is returning for his third season as the Atlanta Hawks' coach despite the team's first-round exit from the playoffs.
The Hawks announced Friday the team is exercising its option on Drew's contract for next season.
"Larry did an outstanding job this season in guiding our team to the fourth-best record in the Eastern Conference, despite a condensed schedule and unfortunate injuries," said general manager Rick Sund.
"The Hawks have reached the postseason in each of his years on the bench, and we feel Larry's experience, expertise and dedication to the game were a key ingredient to our success."
Drew led the Hawks to a 40-26 regular-season record before the team lost to the Boston Celtics in six games in the first round of the playoffs. It was a step back for the franchise after three straight second-round appearances.
Atlanta had the fourth-best record in the Eastern Conference despite losing All-Star center Al Horford for all but 11 games of the regular season. Horford returned in Game 4 of the Celtics series.
The Hawks also lost Joe Johnson, Zaza Pachulia, Kirk Hinrich and other players for stretches of six or more games.
"This group, we never really got to show what we're capable of," Horford said last week.
Pachulia, who was Horford's top backup, missed the Celtics series with a chipped bone in his left foot. Third-string center Jason Collins started the first four games of the series.
Drew said he and his staff "endured a lot of unexpected things."
"Obviously when you lose an All-Star at the beginning of the season, you have to make some adjustments and you've got to kind of change your way of thinking of how you deal with the team now," Drew said last week. "Certainly when you have factored a guy in for the entire season and then he won't be there, you've got to change some things around, particularly the mindset of the rest of the team."
Drew said he did a good job of keeping the team playing hard.
"It's something I take a lot of pride in and spend a lot of time on," he said. "Player relationships are very important and how you deal with it, how you deal with your best player all the way down to the guy who may not dress out during games.
"I thought I did a good job with that. I thought my staff did a good job with that. We can only control so much, but the one thing we tried to control is that those guys when they come to that gym they come out and play hard for you every single night, and I thought we got that."
Drew is 84-64 in two regular seasons and 8-10 in the playoffs. The Hawks were 17-16 on the road this season, the team's first winning record away from Atlanta in 13 years.
The team's five starters and Pachulia are under contract for next season. Nine players are free agents, and Sund's contract expires on June 30.

Sharper Image Cooling Station
Every so often, a product graces the PCMag Labs that will leave more than a few of us scratching our heads in befuddlement. Enter the Sharper Image Cooling Station ($79.99 direct), an item whose main purpose somewhat eludes me. Ostensibly, it's a portable keyboard with a built-in touchpad for your laptop, yet it can only work inches away from the laptop's keyboard. And, as the name implies, it also cools your laptop, but that requires the laptop to be placed in a ridiculously awkward position in order to accommodate the built-in keyboard. And therein lies the main problem with the Sharper Image Cooling Station: while there's obviously nothing inherently wrong with portable keyboards or cooling stations in and of themselves, a combination of the two winds up compromising the utility of both elements to such an extent that the overall product consequently suffers as a whole.
Now, I'm fully aware that Sharper Image isn't a company known for computing prowess. It's more of an entity that specializes in innovative-cum-gimmicky items ranging from foot massagers to automatic tie racks. This lack of focus is apparent with the cooling station. It's a hastily sketched out idea that tries to perform more than one function and winds up doing none of them adequately.
Design
The Sharper Image Cooling Station is constructed out of flimsy plastic and comes in a silver finish. It folds open and close like a laptop, and when it's open and laid out flat, the unit is 17 inches wide and 13.75 inches long, whereas it stands at about 9 inches tall when opened up like a laptop. Opening it up for the first time is a mildly jarring experience because you encounter a keyboard in the lower half but no screen above it, like an incomplete laptop. Instead, you place the bottom of the laptop on this upper portion while tilting your screen upwards. In the end, you wind up with an eye-level screen and the strangely disconcerting, Shining-esque sight of two keyboards staring at you point blank. From an aesthetic angle, the Cooling Station's keyboard is a dead ringer for the MacBook Pro's keyboard, so its keys are in the familiar chiclet style. But while the Cooling Station's keyboard emulates the MacBook Pro's look, the keyboard also has a Windows Start Menu button since it's meant to be compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. As a mini keyboard, its size is nearly identical as the Evoluent Essentials Full Featured Compact Keyboard (EKB) ($49.95 direct, 3.5 stars). There's also a touchpad beneath the keyboard which, despite its superficial similarity to the MacBook's touchpad, does not feature any multi-touch capabilities, like two-finger scrolling.
But before you actually mount your laptop onto this thing, you'll notice a few features on the upper half, namely three horizontally arranged cooling fans that the Cooling Station owes its namesake to. There's a rectangular flap beneath the fans that you push out so it sits obliquely on an adjustable plastic panel behind the system, sort of like a picture frame; adjusting the flap's tilt in turn alters the viewing angle of the laptop screen. There's a removable plastic window to the left of the flap that opens up to reveal a built-in USB 2.0 cable that powers the Cooling System's fans.
To the left of the keyboard are three additional ports: there's a micro USB port for connecting the keyboard and touchpad to your laptop (via the included USB 2.0 cable), as well as two available USB 2.0 ports for connecting additional peripherals. Annoyingly, the micro USB port and the built-in USB cable are both located on the Cooling Station's left side, so if there aren't any USB ports on the left side of your laptop, it'll take some patience and creativity to hook the Cooling System to your Laptop; this problem is exacerbated by the fact that both the included USB cable and the built-in cable are only 21 inches long and, consequently, offer very little slack.
Performance
Although the Sharper Image Cooling Station's three cooling fans performed decently and succeeded in lowering my laptop's temperature by 2 degrees Celsius after a few minutes, its built-in keyboard and touchpad must also be considered since the three are inextricably linked and, in appraising the item holistically, the good must also be evaluated in addition to the bad. And, man, there's plenty of that going on here.
Despite Sharper Image's claims that the Cooling Station increases productivity, I found the opposite to be true in actual practice. The combination of a tiny palm rest that forces your hands off the edges and flimsy plastic material made typing on the Cooling Station's built-in keyboard an exceedingly difficult and frustrating endeavor. While the Cooling Station's keyboard succeeds in emulating the MacBook Pro's aesthetic, it doesn't come anywhere near the latter in terms of quality and performance. The Cooling Station's stiff and clacky keys are almost entirely devoid of springiness. Unlike the better, equally portable Evoluent Essentials Keyboard (EKB), there are no hot keys whatsoever. Only the most basic keys are here. Even standard, fairly ubiquitous function keys like screen brightness and volume control haven't been included. These omissions paradoxically force you to return to your laptop's now-vertically positioned keyboard to access these keys even while another keyboard sits directly in front of you, thus begging the question: why even bother using this keyboard at all, especially when your laptop almost invariably comes equipped with a better one? Those looking for a portable keyboard to use in addition to their laptop's would be much better served by the significantly cheaper Verbatim Mini Wireless SlimBoard Keyboard & Mouse ($30 street, 3 stars), which also boasts wireless connectivity, or the Evoluent Essentials (EKB) since it's practically the same size as the Cooling Station's built-in keyboard and also sports hot keys that would actually succeed in increasing productivity.
It doesn't help that the keyboard lacks rigidity and give off an overwhelming sensation of cheapness. The shallow area where the keys are located feels disconcertingly hollow, and typing on it with a normal level of intensity yielded a noticeable amount of bending beneath the weight of rapid keystrokes. Overall, the Cooling Station made for an unpleasant typing experience. The cramped keyboard served as a prelude to the even more cramped and equally limited touchpad. Its responsiveness was average at best and its left- and right- click buttons were stiff and clunky. As mentioned earlier, there aren't any multi-touch capabilities on the touchpad. As was the case with the Cooling Station's keyboard, you'd very likely be better off using your laptop's touchpad, or with a mouse-keyboard combination like the Verbatim Mini Wireless SlimBoard Keyboard & Mouse or its full-sized counterpart, the Verbatim Wireless Slim Keyboard and Mouse ($63.00 direct, 3 stars).
In the end, the Sharper Image Cooling Station's lack of focus seals its fate. It's a cooling system that harbors aspirations of being a keyboard, and it consequently performs poorly as whole. Even if it didn't come with an inflated price tag, its odd design and lackluster keyboard and touchpad make for a strange, entirely half-baked product you're better off avoiding.
Go for the automated tie rack instead.

Chronicle of a trial foretold: Breivik is following his manifesto's script
Anders Behring Breivik's manifesto includes instructions on what a 'Templar' should do if tried in a European court.
Among the early headlines from the fourth day of the trial of Anders Behring Breivik for the murder of 77 people last July was that, for the first time, Mr. Breivik did not perform his now-familiar clenched-fist salute upon arrival at the court. Several families of Breivik's victims said they found the salute offensive, and his lawyers apparently were able to convince him to stop and avoid undermining his case.
Skip to next paragraphBut the drop of the salute is not only significant for its effect on his defense's strategy. It also marks a significant departure from Breivik's playbook: his 1,500-page manifesto. Breivik wrote extensively not only about his own beliefs about the alleged activities of "the Marxist tyrants of Europe" and the mission of the Knights Templar, or "Templars," the group to which he claims to belong. He also wrote a comprehensive set of instructions and guidelines for what a Templar should do if tried in a European court. He appears to be following it to the extent he is able.
Breivik wrote a short section on his salute, which he claims to be "the military salutation" of the Templars. He writes that the salute, which he recommends being performed in a white glove, symbolizes strength, purity, and resistance against "the Marxist tyrants of Europe." Interestingly, he claims the salute has nothing to do with either racist "white power" salutes or with the similar, open-palmed Nazi salute.
While Breivik's manifesto does not mention the salute specifically in reference to a trial, its use at trial fits closely into what Breivik argues is the best way to use trials: as propaganda. Breivik writes that after being captured, "the subsequent court proceedings may present several propaganda opportunities." He adds that "This trial is (from our point of view), not against you but rather a trial against the regime."
One of the key openings for propaganda that Breivik saw is the opportunity to present an opening and closing statement. Breivik includes a four-page sample opening statement, which he seemed to use as a source for his own.?
His sample draws parallels between the quest of the "Templars" and that of Native American leaders like Sitting Bull ? parallels he made on the first day of testimony in his own trial. As the Monitor reported, ?Were they terrorists for fighting for their indigenous culture ? or were they heroes?? Breivik asked the court. ?My acts are based on goodness, not evil,? he added. ?If anyone is vicious it is the Socialists.?
In the manifesto, Breivik also outlines a dress code for Templars, which he says should be adhered to in court. "Our dress uniform ... will be used for the sole?purpose of representing the authority of our military order and tribunal during trial," he writes. The uniform is to include a US Marine Corp dress jacket in dark blue or black, dress pants in the same color, and an extensive set of medals and decorations including epaulettes and Templar badges. Judging from the photos of his appearances in court, Breivik seems to have been following his own dress code as best he can, though he has appeared sans pseudo-military decorations.
In his game plan for Templar trial appearances, Breivik shows every expectation of losing. The heading for his sample closing statement reads: "Closing statement ? last day of trial, after judgment (guilty)." But he also expresses hope that the trial may lead to the introduction of stiffer criminal sentences, and perhaps even introduction of the death penalty, which is currently illegal in Norway.
The trial itself may not end up as anything else than a formality where the goal can be to change the law, forcing the parliament of that country to introduce the death penalty, or harshen the penal laws in other ways. Indirectly forcing the parliament of your country to change the laws will be an indirect victory to our movement because it will provide significant media coverage of our cause and thus will contribute to future recruitment efforts.
Breivik echoed this thinking during his second day of testimony, the Monitor reported.
?No, I don?t want [capital punishment], but I would have respected that,? he said, adding that if Norway doubled the current maximum sentence it would ?serve his cause? and ?prove Norway had thrown their principles out the window."

Facebook rolling out improved News Feed layout for mobile devices
For Facebook fans, it's always a little bit scary when Facebook decides to rollout some new layout changes considering you never know if they're going to make the experience better or worse. The latest update though appears of have made things a little better especially for those who post or view a lot of photos via Facebook. As noted on Facebook:
"Starting today, we’re rolling out an improved design for posts in news feed on your mobile phone. Now photos are up to 3x larger, and all posts will fill your mobile screen from edge to edge. The new design will be available on iOS, Android and m.facebook.com."
As you can see in the shot above, images extend out and fill up the screen better now where as before it would only show just a small preview and you would then have to click through to see the image or any set of images in your news feed. We'll let you all decide if it's better this way but in any case, it's live now for folks -- no update to the app itself needed as it is a server side change.

ATD: Yahoo's CEO Scott Thompson to step down amidst degree scandal (update: confirmed)
While thousands upon thousands of Americans are celebrating graduation weekend with degree in hand, it looks as if the CEO of one particular internet company will be wondering why he lied about his. After weeks of investigating, word on the street has it that freshly appointed (as in January 4th) CEO Scott Thompson will be "stepping down." In other words, he's being canned. The news comes from an All Things D report on the matter, with the official word expected soon. The scandal took hold a few weeks back, with the official Yahoo bio listing a computer science degree that he allegedly didn't even have. The company line is that he's bolting for "personal reasons," but seriously -- what are the chances these "reasons" would've emerged sans scandal? It's bruited that Yahoo's global media head Ross Levinsohn will be filling Scott's shoes for now, but there's no word yet on who the firm's next CEO will be. It's a shame, but it sure feels like a revolving door in Yahoo's corner office.
Update: Yahoo has confirmed Thompson's departure in an official press release (after the break), placing Ross Levinsohn in a interim CEO position, as expected. The firm also mentions that Roy Bostock's seat as Chairman of the board will be filled by Fred Amoroso. Hit the break for the official statement.

Sony Xperia GX packs 13MP camera and 4.6-inch HD display, joined by Xperia SX to offer LTE in Japan
Sony's announced its first two LTE-capable phones for its Japanese customers -- and there's two of 'em. The Xperia GX is up first, with a 720p 4.6-inch display squeezed in alongside a new 13-megapixel camera -- a first for Sony's mobile family, and presumably its new CMOS sensor. A 1.5 GHz dual-core processor ensures it should all tick along nicely, while the hardware design follows the curves of last year's Xperia Arc, this time with a matte finish. The camera upgrade and huge screen makes a good case for this to be Sony's new flagship device -- mere months since the Xperia S debuted in Europe -- and before the Xperia Ion has even had chance to launch in the US.
It's joined by the Xperia XS, which Sony claims is the world's lightest LTE capable handset, weighing in at just under 100g. It packs a smaller 3.7-inch screen with the same Mobile Bravia engine found on its bigger brother -- and the rest of Sony's recent handsets. It's joined by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor (although there's no specifics on what type just yet), a more standard 8-megapixel camera and it wouldn't be a Japanese phone without infrared connectivity, mobile wallet and a mobile TV -- they're all built-in. Both phones will launch in black and white, and Android fans can rest easy, as they'll both arrive with Android 4.0 installed when they hit stores in Japan this summer.
